Sarah Tosone Brooks joined Pursley Lowery Meeks LLP as a litigation associate in 2005. Ms. Brooks focuses her practice in the areas of eminent domain related litigation, medical malpractice defense, and general business and commercial litigation. Her experience also includes the defense of officers of corporations subject to SEC investigations, construction disputes, and general real estate related litigation. Ms. Brooks was born in Overland Park, Kansas on May 28, 1979. She graduated from Emory University with a B.A. degree in Political Science and minor in Philosophy in 2002. In 2005, Ms. Brooks received her J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law, graduating cum laude. She also served as Associate Notes & Comments Editor of the Georgia State Law Review. She is the author of Review of Selected 2004 Georgia Legislation: Condemnation Procedures, 21 Ga. St. U. L. Rev. 157. During law school, Ms. Brooks completed an internship with the Honorable Judge Wendy L. Shoob at the Fulton County Superior Court. At Georgia State, Ms. Brooks was a pupil in the Bleckley Inn of Court, worked as a research assistant for Professor Marjorie Fine Knowles, and served as Chief Justice of the school's Honor Court. She also studied international commercial arbitration in Eastern Europe. Ms. Brooks is admitted to practice in Georgia and is a member of the Atlanta and American Bar Associations. She serves on the Ethics and Professionalism Committee for the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia. She is active in both YLD and GAWL (Georgia Association of Women Lawyers). In addition to her work, Ms. Brooks enjoys running, cycling, traveling, Kansas Jayhawks basketball, and spending time with her husband Brian and their two dogs. Ms. Brooks has completed three marathons, including the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington D.C., and plans to run the NYC Marathon in 2008.
