Mr. Pursley was born in LaFayette, Georgia on June 5, 1944. He obtained his B. A. degree in 1966 from Florida State University and attended the University of Georgia School of Law where he was the Executive Editor of the Georgia Law Review - http://www.law.uga.edu/galawrev/ After graduating from law school in 1969, Mr. Pursley served as a captain in the U. S. Army, Judge Advocate Corps, for four years. He joined the predecessor firm of the Atlanta office of Kutak Rock & Campbell in 1974 and was made a partner in 1978. His area of litigation expertise is eminent domain and real estate-related matters. He is the author of Georgia Eminent Domain, published by The Harrison Company and updated yearly, and serves as a speaker at legal seminars sponsored by the Georgia Institute of Continuing Legal Education. He is a member of the Atlanta and American Bar Associations, the State Bar of Georgia and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta and is admitted to practice before the U. S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the Fifth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the United States Supreme Court.
